Logitech Mobile Speakerphone P710e

This is one of those things that you won' think about until you need it.   I find the sound from my speaker phone on my S4 is adequate, no better than adequate.  I paired this puppy with my phone and had excellent clarity.   The recipient of my call said I sounded fine but with the "tunnel" sound that often occurs with speaker phones.

I successfully paired with the Bluetooth on my cell phone.  I was unable to get the speakerphone to pair with my Acer tablet.  This was somewhat surprising as I have a Logitech Bluetooth keyboard and a Logitech Bluetooth mouse successfully paired with the same tablet.   I even turned off my cell phone thinking it might be interfering but the documentation for the speakerphone states that up to eight devices can be connected but with only two simultaneously active.   Rebooted the tablet and the speakerphone several times to see if that was the issue.   I went to the Logitech support web site for the product and found nothing there that I had not already done.  So I have no clue why the Acer tablet would not connect.

I was able to successfully test it with Skype on my laptop by using the USB connection.  The clarity again, was excellent.

A side bonus when I tested it on my cell phone,  after the call I played some music and the speakerphone was a very effective portable speaker as well as a speakerphone.   This is a nice unit, my only reservation is the inability to connect to my tablet.   I will try it on an iPad and a Samsung tablet when I am around somebody who has one and update when I do.    $139.00 at Amazon

It is a very compact unit.

From the vendor:
Advanced DSP technology enables precise tuning for both the mic and speaker so conversations are more life-like.

An integrated stand positions a mobile phone or tablet at just the right angle for shake-free video calls and hands-free access to the mobile screen.

Hear and be heard in true wideband audio, so those on both sides of the call can enjoy a life-like communication experience.

USB plug-and-play connectivity easily connects to PCs or Macs, or pair up to eight Bluetooth devices

With 15 hours of talk time between charges the Mobile Speakerphone P710e outlasts the longest workday

Samsung FlipShot-ho hum

I just got the Samsung FlipShot aka SCH-U900. If you haven’t noticed by now, I am very family oriented, specifically focused on grandchildren. I frequently lament that I don’t have my camera on me. However, I always have my phone on me. Thusly I wanted a phone with a decent camera. The FlipShot comes close. Samsung claims it is a 3 megapixel camera with flash and zoom. The photos are not what I would consider decent from a digital camera but compared to my last phone/camera, they are much better. The phone has a slot for a micro sd memory card. I popped a 2gb card in there for saving my photos. I have not been able to find a way to default the photos to the memory card. You have to manually move them. I haven’t given up and perhaps in a software upgrade there will be a way to get them to the card without moving them manually. Getting them off of the phone is interesting. If you don’t buy Samsung’s charging/data cable, you can send them to yourself and get them on your pc that way. You
