3D TV Explained

Kids love 3D TV I recently watched Blu-Ray “Tangled” on a 3D television.   It was pretty darn cool.   I got an email from Diamond Case’s Steve Hartfelder that provides a very good and informative overview of 3D TV.   Steve is one of the two most knowledge people in the home theater industry.  Amusingly enough his brother Dave is the other one.   Rather than rehash it here, I have linked to Steve’s Simple answers to the 14 most commonly asked questions about 3D HDTV.    Diamond Case sold a 3D TV and the furniture to display it to one of my family.  The TV and the cabinet are beautiful and he is a very satisfied customer.    BTW I do NOT have any financial relationship to Diamond Case and I receive no compensation for linking to them  or mentioning them on my blogs.

How To Stream Movies and Television Shows By Steve Hartfelder

A guest post by Steve Hartfelder of Diamond Case.   I have referred to Diamond Case in the past, they are an independent, family owned and operated business in Anaheim, California.   I have had personal experience with their exceptional knowledge and customer service which is why I recommend them.  They will sell and ship nationally.   I do not get any compensation for recommending them.  Click Here To Go To Diamond Case for the full post.

Connect Your Computer to Your TV

You ever want to hook your computer up to your TV? If you have a Tivo and a network it is a piece of cake. Download the Tivo server software onto your computer and you can then see all your graphics files and music files on the Tivo. This is particularly good for showing off your digital photos on a much bigger screen. Conversely, you can save Tivo shows on your computer hard drive and if you want, you can burn them to DVDs. However this does require a Tivo or similar DVR. If you have no Tivo and you want to: n View your digital photos on your large screen TVs n Listen to your music through your home stereo system n View videos stuck on your hard drive on your big screen n Do basic web surfing in your living room or TV room n Show off presentations to family, friends, or co-workers. Our friends at Diamond Case Designs have a very good article in their Home Theater Information Center that gives step by step instructions in “HOW TO” connect your PC and TV. Again, we have no financial...

Infrared Repeaters

Once again I am going to refer to Diamond Case Designs and once again I will reiterate I am not being paid one dime by DCD nor am I in any way financially connected to Diamond Case Designs. I do find their newsletters and their information center really interesting which may indicate that I need to get a life or maybe not. As you may know, infrared remotes depend on line of sight to function. While babysitting my grandchildren I noticed that I had to open the cabinet under the big screen to use the remote. I thought at the time how inconvenient and it definitely impacts the whole reason for having the components out of sight. How could I use an infrared remote through the wooden door? I happened on the infrared repeaters at the Diamond Case Information center and realized I didn’t have to reinvent the wheel. To begin place a sensing receiver somewhere in line of sight. There is a table top receiving eye and a tear drop style receiving eye. From my perspective, the tear drop style is wa...
