Maytag Over-the-Range Microwave MMV5208WS

This is a large microwave oven.  It has settings I have yet to try.  Instead of a rotating plate it has a plate that moves left to right and front to back.  Seems a bit strange but I am sure they have some reason for it.   The previous microwave had a single touch feature which I liked.   This one necessitates selecting some setting prior to setting a length of time.   That isn't a serious flaw, it does have the add 30 second feature that I like.   It works, heats and cooks at a reasonable price.  If reviewing a product, it may have been received free of charge. That will NEVER have a bearing on my recommendations.

Maytag Electric Range MER8680BS

This is a very nice range.  It has a large oven.  This is my first extended experience with a glass top range.  I was pleasantly surprised with how quickly it heated.  I was also surprised with how long it took to cool down and how much of the surface area was hot regardless of which burner is turned on.   This does the job and a fairly reasonable price.  My only complaint is how difficult it is to get the storage drawer open.  A integrated handle of some sort would have been nice.  BTW the black top shows dust immediately so be prepared to dust your range. LOL If reviewing a product, it may have been received free of charge. That will NEVER have a bearing on my recommendations.

Goodbye Dad, A Military Funeral, A Picture Book by William G. Bentrim

Funerals are part of life.   As adults we have a basic understanding of what occurs when there is a funeral.   Children do not have that luxury.   This book tries to explain what a funeral is and what happens at a funeral.   It is non-denominational and does not deal with the grief that normally accompanies a funeral.   This book just tries to explain the basic aspects of a funeral from the perspective of a ten year old boy who just lost his father.  5.0 out of 5 stars   Heaven-Sent for a Child....   July 23, 2014 By   annie frame Format: Kindle Edition Once again this extremely talented author has excelled. W.G. Bentrim takes a very daunting subject and presents it superbly. Children and death. What can be said and how to say it? Minefield to most. Not to one writer. Unsure as to what I would think after reading Goodbye Dad. A Military Funeral, I hedged my bets. Would I agree with the approach? Would it be appropriate? At the end I felt a complete sense of comfo

Maytag Dishwasher MDB7749SBM

The dishwasher does it's job.   Nothing fancy about it.  The plastic stops on the top rack would not stay on.  I called and got a delightful woman who sent me two different types and one stayed on.   The plastic stops keep the top rack rails from scraping on the door and scratching it.   The top rack on some models can be lowered.  This model the racks do not appear to be moveable.   This is unfortunate as the top rack does not allow enough space to put tall wine glasses.   Looking at the rail supports for the rack, it appears that the only reason this rack doesn't adjust is to give the next model up something to differentiate it.   The roller assembly which holds the rack is very similar on both the adjustable and single position racks.  Looks as if an expenditure of mere cents would have allowed the rack to be repositioned. This is the part that kept falling off. Arrow points at the part that kept falling off.  Overall the dishwasher is fine.  It cleans th

ERGObaby Four Position 360 Baby Carrier, Grey

I'll preface this with the admonishment that I do not have an infant to try it on.   With that caveat, I am an experienced parent and grandparent.   We made extensive use of the back pack type of baby carrier 37 years ago.   I have used carriers since when baby sitting grandkids.   This carrier seems very high quality.  The materials are top notch.   I particularly like the versatility of the product.   It has the front forward position that I have found is favored by infants after the first month or so of development.   The versatility and the quality of construction insure I will be using this with the next grandkid due in several months.  Keep in mind, it is expensive.   Item Weight    2 pounds Product Dimensions    12.2 x 10.1 x 4.6 inches UPC    845197043870 Item model number     BC360GRYTAU1NL Minimum weight recommendation     7 Pounds Maximum weight recommendation    33 Pounds Material Type  Cotton material_composition  100% Cotton Canvas shell and 1

MAXCRAFT 7709 Quick Link Assortment, 20-Piece by MAXCRAFT

I don't recall having such a strong need for these when my kids were little but boy I use them frequently on projects for my grand kids.  I have used them for connecting safety chains on the zip line.  They are great for securing bars to trapezes or swings to ceiling joists.   They also make securing chests or doors while eliminating the need for a lock.  They are surprisingly expensive at the local hardware store or even the big box stores.   It isn't unusual to spend $2.50 for one.   Therefore the price on Amazon is a terrific bargain.   Take note these are not heavy duty type lock links.  I have used two in place of one if there is a need for safety.  However for general use, even if I use two instead of one, the price still makes it a bargain. FIOS another Disappointment

FIOS internet does not provide a free antivirus and Comcast does.  FIOS wants you to pay an additional fee for their antivirus solution.   Frankly I never used the Comcast antivirus when I had Comcast but I don't like that FIOS is charging extra when they claim to exceed Comcast in all areas.

Suncast TALL CABINET (TAUPE) C7200K

This is a great storage cabinet.   Size and price impact how I feel about this but the ease of assembly was the shining star for this product.  It assembled easily with no, I repeat NO tools.   It could use one more shelf but I knew going in how many shelves it had.  So if you need some storage this will do the trick.  BTW I have had a Suncast cedar chest type cabinet for at least 10 years and it has held up just fine through some pretty severe Pennsylvania winters and summers.    I recommend this cabinet, $89.00 at Kmart and it was $119.00 at Home Depot.   ·                 29,484 cu. in storage capacity ·                 3 adjustable shelves ·                 Durable, maintenance-free resin construction ·                 Each shelf holds up to 75 lbs. ·                 Attractive styling ·     72-3/8" H x 30" W x 20-1/4" D ·     Weight: 61.2 lbs. ·     Color: Gray ·     Some assembly required If reviewing a product, it
