Wireless Security LED Light

UPDATE 12/6/16 UPDATE:  The light failed, it is in bright sunlight for at least 8 hours a day and it is no longer working.   I took it down and brought it inside and exposed it to light for several hours and then took it into a closet and it still does not work.  So the life span of this unit is disturbingly short. When it worked it did a nice job but it certainly didn't hold up.

Solar Lights, Outdoor/Garden Waterproof Solar Motion Light - Wireless Security LED Light - Bright - for Outdoor Wall/Deck/Pole - Auto ON/OFF - No Tools Required - Vont

This light is small but surprisingly bright.  It comes with installation screws and mounting anchors.  The instruction manual is surprisingly helpful and in fonts that are legible without any type of artificial enlargement.  (a criticism I have repeatedly leveled on some manuals using -6 point fonts to save paper costs I guess.)  The photo shows it mounted on a bracket as I don't willingly put holes in my vinyl siding.   The quality seems good and it turned off and on as expected while in the closet.   If it fails to do so in outdoor conditions I will report back here.   I received this item free in consideration for doing an honest review.

·                        INSTALLS EASILY IN SECONDS - You can install your new solar light onto any surface.(wood, bricks, stucco, metal, siding, glass etc.) Hinge and screws are provided at no cost.
·                        COMPLETELY WIRELESS - No wiring or tools are necessary. This light is solar powered by durable high battery life solar panels.
Installed over door also gives perspective
to the size of the light.
·                        ULTRA BRIGHTS LEDs - Bright enough to light up an entire garden and turn the night into day. The illumination can go up to 80 lumens.
·                        HEAT & WATER RESISTANT - Can withstand all types of weather. Built with durable military-grade materials.
·                        FULLY AUTOMATIC - Turns on automatically at night, and turns off at sunrise. The PIR motion sensor activates when movement is detected within 5m/15ft.

REVITIVE Circulation Booster

This is well thought out unit.  The remote control makes a lot of sense and saves bending to change the controls.   It provides a wide range of intensity that should be increased with caution.   I put the pads on my arm and found it literally jumping until I dialed it down.   It is easy to use and resting your feet on it feels natural.   I can not testify to any medicinal benefits but does seem to do what it claims to do. It seems durable and should provide good service.

·                       Best-Seller on Amazon UK with 4.6 out of 5 stars, or 92% favorable rating!
·                       Powerful, prescription-strength electrical stimulation activates nerve-endings in your feet to flex the muscles right up your legs, activating the "second-heart"

Crescent CLP5SETN Locking Plier Set, 5 Piece

I have a couple of these already but frankly this product seems much better in quality.   I don't use them often but when you want something held, these do the trick.  I particularly like the pair of needle nose, that is something I have never had and that will come in handy.  I often use these to hold something small that I am painting.  Building a doll house a few years ago I used the normal jaw pliers which were not terrific for the job.  The long nose pliers provide a smaller gripping area and should be perfect for holding small, light items.  This is a nice set of useful tools.

from the vendor:
·                           5 piece set includes 5 inch, 7 inch and 10 inch curved jaw locking pliers plus 6 inch and 9 inch long nose locking pliers
·                           Versatile curved jaw design also features integral wire cutter
·                           Long nose design features a wire cutter that gets into hard-to-reach spots
·                           Compound action for powerful non-slip locking grip
·                           Nickel plated finish resists rust and corrosion

Armitron Sport Men's 20/5157NVY Analog-Digital Chronograph Navy Blue Resin Strap Watch

Amitron makes an attractive watch.  This model had buttons that were far easier to push than the last one I reviewed.   The instructions are still printed in a font that practically defies anyone to read it is so small however I have seen smaller.  The settings were easier to do than the last model as well.  However, do not, I repeat, do not lose the instructions.  there is nothing intuitive about the watch besides setting the analog time.   Everything else is press this button until that flashes and then press that button to change whatever it is you want to change.   This watch, as well as the last Amitron I reviewed,  are appropriate for the gadget prone consumer.  Unless you are willing to read the instructions, I doubt if you will ever use anything but the analog time function.  I do like the light, that is a feature that I use with surprising frequency.  I went to Amitron's website to see if I could download a copy of the instructions and thusly print it in a much larger, like 12 pt font but the site said there was no information on the watch and to call.   I put in the 20/4942 model as well and got the same no information message.  That does not bode well for either model.

Roundup Extended Control Weed and Grass Killer Plus Weed Preventer II Concentrate, 16-Ounce

I put this down last night and saw results today.  I mixed as per the instructions in the battery operated sprayer from the same company.   I saw droopy and browning plants tonight.  I don't know if it actually works that fact or if it was in combination with the 90 degree day we had.   I used it on grass on the driveway and a rock covered bed.   I can't say if it works for 4 months since it just went down last night.   It appears as if it is as least as effective as the regular round up which works great.

From the vendor:
·                           Dual-action formula kills existing weeds and prevents new ones from growing for up to 4 months
·                           Kills weeds to the root. Guaranteed! Consumer Guarantee: If for any reason you are not satisfied after using this product, simply send us original proof of purchase and we will replace the product or refund the purchase price.

TP-LINK TL-NC230 HD Wireless Surveillance Home Security Camera Motion Detection & Alerts (Black/White)

This review started very positively.  The camera connected quickly to my network and I was able to easily install the software from GooglePlay.   The picture resolution is excellent as is the sound quality.   I wanted to install some of the features like motion detection.  I downloaded the manual and that is when the fun began.

The manual tells you to put in the camera ip address and proceed from there.  If you put in the ip address it brings up a screen and it informed me that TP-Link doesn't work with the Chrome browser and it suggested IE, Firefox or Opera if I wanted to get to the advanced features.   I tried them all.   IE doesn't exisit in Windows 10.  Edge says it doesn't support plugins.   Firefox would not see the plugin.  Opera said it didn't support it.

There was a card in the packaging suggesting if support was needed to go to support.amazon@tp-link.com which led nowhere.  Their toll free support number is active Monday-Friday and this is a Saturday.  So bottom line, the advanced features are impossible to get to work as you can't get to them.   If you want a nice camera to log in and see if anyone is breaking in, this works as long as yo don't need motion detection and don't want notification.  In other words, it is totally hit or miss as you would have to long on at precisely the time the burglar is breaking into the home.

This looked potentially good but without access to advanced features it is basically adequate.  Oh, I'm not sure what the black and white in parenthesis indicates unless it is the physical color of the camera as the video image is in color.

I gave up in frustration to get to the camera set up because it would not work with my browsers, Chrome, Opera, Firefox and Edge.   A kind soul here told me how to get to IE and, viola, I was able to get into the camera setup on the TP-Link site.   I was able to set up sound and motion detection and set up email notification.  I tested it and it worked fine.   The shortcomings I see are that there is no easy way to turn it off or on.   I can leave IE open and turn it off and on but otherwise I don't see any way to easily disable it.  If you can't disable it when you are in front of the camera, you will get camera alert emails every few minutes.   An icon for the phone and or computer to easily turn the camera off and on would be helpful.  It also would be helpful to be able to text alerts rather than email.  Finally the system does not allow the deletion of the admin admin standard login to the setup software.  That seems to me a major flaw.   Anyone who can get the ip address of the camera and figure out they need to use an old browser can then log in and make changes or view the camera.

So in spite of the fact that I was finally able to get into the software, I am still not thrilled with the camera.   I think there are some bugs to work out to make it both easier to use and more secure.

from the vendor:
·                           720p HD Imaging - HD resolution provides sharper, clearer images
·                           Night Vision - Automatic night vision functionality supports 24-hour surveillance
·                           H.264 Compression - Ensure smooth HD video streaming while consuming less bandwidth
·                           tpCamera App - Use the tpCamera app to access feeds from anywhere, at any time
·                           Motion & Sound Detection - Immediate email notifications whenever motion or sound is detected

Buzz Bee Toys Water Warriors Python 2 Water Blaster

This is the third Buzz Bee water blaster I have reviewed.   This one is smaller and lighter than the Colossus that was over 4 pounds when filled with water.   This had the same three pattern spray that the Colossus has.   The best spray distance I got with all three of the nozzles was roughly 25 feet.   This is shorter than the Stingray and the Colossus.   It didn't matter how much I pumped it, I could not get it to spray more than 25'.   The three spray nozzle was much shorter than that, between 15 and 16 feet.   This company seems to have a nice product.  It will be interesting to see how the water blasters hold up to the vigorous play the grand children will give them.  If they are dramatically better or worse than average, I will report back here.

Air pressure water blaster with 3 adjustable nozzles
Camouflage design
Soak a target up to 40 feet away
Includes a 18in. long, 52oz. water blaster
Recommended for children 6 years of age and older

Golf Buddy Ladies LD2 GPS Watch

This is an attractive golf GPS.  My wife's initial reaction was it was "pretty".   I charged it as the directions recommended.  The directions suggested registering the product and then installing the "management" software.   There is no obvious spot on their website for product registration.  See menu below that I clipped from their site.  I went to the LD2 page and then found the "management" software page.  I downloaded the software which took substantially more time than it should have taken.   I ran an Internet speed test to see if there was a problem on my end.   All my parameters were fine so I have to assume that the problem was on their end.  It took approximately 10 minutes to download the software.  That is ludicrous but that is what it took.

I then tried to install the "management" software.   It requested that I register.  I tried registering.  I filled out their form and inputted a password.  Their software didn't like my password.  It didn't seem to matter what I put in the password box, it would not accept it and yes I followed their admonishment as to what was an acceptable password.  I tried to bypass that feature and use the can't find my password query on login.  It told me my information was incorrect.   After several minutes of trying to solve the issues, I uninstalled their software.   After owning and operating a computer business for 25 years I am reasonably competent on a computer.  Frankly if I had issues, I suspect the average user will have issue.

I have not tested the unit on the golf course yet.  I will post my results (not my miserable score) after I have played my next round.  I can only hope the product will work better than the website, forms and software.  Even if it performs beautifully on the course I am still disappointed on the poor results from their website and download.

I have now had the Golf Buddy on the course.  I am not impressed. I turned it on 20 minutes before I teed off.  It was not able to find the course.  The instructions says that when it found a satellite that it would automatically set the time and date, it never did set the time and date.    It took three holes before it finally registered the course and the correct hole.  Once it found the course the ranges shown on the screen were within a yard or two of the Garmin and Bushnell that were in the foursome.   So once it started working it was ok.  It did not advance to the correct hole at one point but the tee box of the hole was very close to the other fairway so that was understandable.  It was easy to advance the hole.   After the round, I turned it off and had lunch.  I then went out, turned the unit back on and stood on the first tee and then the 18th green to see if it would find the course.  It showed the satellite with the rays coming down graphic but after 15 minutes it still hadn't found the course.  The display was surprisingly easy to read, even in direct sunlight but overall this was a disappointing product.  It is not intuitive, it has poor documentation and the inability to find the course in a timely manner precludes it's usability.   Frankly most golfers want something you turn on and then forget unless you are checking ranges.   None of us want to be playing technician on the golf course.
