Dirt Cheap Halloween Pumpkin Decorating

Kmart’s Mr. Potato Head Like Pumpkin Face Kits Kmart has the Totally Ghoul Pumpkin Push Ins - Funny Faces that are very cool.   I got a set of these for a whopping $3.99.    They work like the old Mr. Potato Head worked.    You push the pieces into the pumpkin to make faces.    This kit is much easier and substantially less messy than painting or carving.     It is also so simple that the littlest kids can do it.    Kmart description: Product Description These fun pumpkin push-ins are a great way to decorate your pumpkin for the Halloween season. No carving, no mess, twice the fun. Use any combination of push-in pieces to create a multitude of funny faces! This is NOT a self portrait! No carving required Creates multiple funny faces Reusable Great for parties Includes 3 sets of eyes, 3 mouths, 3 sets of ears, 3 noses and 1 set of horns Materials 100% ABS I bought this at Kmart, they did not give it to me to review and I received zero compen

Steeler Cheerleader

Nothing on money saving tips, just a great photo.  I read recently that cat videos and photos get more hits than any topic on the web except for porn.   Well, you won't find any porn here but in this photo from my grandkids I would like to introduce my grand-cat!  Having worked for US Steel as a young pup, I have been a Steeler fan ever since.  My gkids are not Steeler fans but they know how to tickle their grandfather's funnybone! This book may have been received free of charge from a publisher or a publicist. That will NEVER have a bearing on my recommendations.

Actiontec Coax Network Adapter Kit Disappointing

I sense a pattern here.   Either I am too far into retirement to read instructions correctly or Actiontec needs to write them better.    I followed the instructions for setup number by number.    I looked at the pictures and I read the instructions.    I connected everything as the instructions demanded.   The last sentence instructs to make sure that both Coax and Ethernet lights turn solid green on both adapters.    The Ethernet light glowed a pretty green, the coax light never lit.    I checked the TV and the pass through on the unit worked fine, I saw no degradation of the TV signal.    I never showed an Ethernet connection and try as I might, checking all connections triple checking the setup I found no way to get the Coax light lit.    I’m guessing that a solid connection needs to exist on both legs for the Ethernet to work.   Cable TV worked as a pass through and that was all I could accomplish.    This is not plug and play or at least for me it was not plug and pl

Lava Soft Ad-Aware Not So Smooth With FireFox

Aggravated!  I installed the Ad-Aware security tool bar the other day.   It sounded good and you can’t have too much security or can you? FireFox went to a crawl.    Typing an email in gmail, I had keyboard lag like you would not believe.    I even changed the batteries in my wireless keyboard thinking what the heck is going on.    Finally I removed the Ad-Aware Security tool bar and all went back to normal.    So my conclusion, as unscientific as it may be is that Ad-Aware either doesn’t play nicely with FireFox or with gmail.    Either way, I don’t need the aggravation.   If reviewing a product, it may have been received free of charge. That will NEVER have a bearing on my recommendations.

Fisher-Price Imaginext Eagle Talon Castle

Once again Fisher-Price hits a home run.    This castle goes well with the one I got for an older grandchild with a lion instead of an eagle theme.    There are plenty of bells and whistles on this that will thrill kids up to 8.    The castle makes noises and where you stick the people will give you different sounds.   There are secret rooms and a canon that also causes speech reactions.    Flashing lights and eagle appearances makes it appealing to the imagination.   A great gift item.   BTW it DOES include batteries. If reviewing a product, it may have been received free of charge. That will NEVER have a bearing on my recommendations.

Sports Unlimited Has Prompt Customer Response

Kudos for Customer Service I was browsing for a zip line and came across a nice site called Sports Unlimited .    I was a bit concerned when I could not find a physical address.   The lack of a physical address normally sends up a red flag on the credibility of the vendor. I emailed their customer service and FYI about the lack of address and got a very prompt response.    They had their address more prominently displayed and had customers coming to their location to browse their goods.   They are not a retail store front and had no way of addressing those customers and their desires.    Their physical address is quite clear on their returns page. I commend them for such a prompt response to my concern.    I have not bought anything from them and have received no compensation form them for posting this compliment.      If reviewing a product, it may have been received free of charge. That will NEVER have a bearing on my recommendations.

Mini Tips—Prescriptions

Costco and Sam’s Club will fill prescriptions for anyone.  You do not have to be a member.   OTC (over the counter) drugs can be found at huge discounts at Amazon.   As an example, generic Zyrtec, 365 tabs for $21.30 compared to $15.00 for a dozen brand name at the local pharmacy.   If reviewing a product, it may have been received free of charge. That will NEVER have a bearing on my recommendations.

Belkin Car MicroCharger for The Galaxy Tab

My experience with Belkin products has been uniformly positive.   As a former reseller, I sold quite a bit of Belkin and if there were ever any issues the problems were handled quickly and professionally. This little charger does a good job. It is compact, easily fits in the center console or glove compartment.   In fact it is so small, you can put it in your sunglasses spot if your car has one of those. It charges quickly and what more can you say.   A reasonable price, good behavior and a company that backs it’s products leads me to recommend the product. From their description: ·                          Clean and clutter free experience ·                          Sits near flush to your dashboard ·                          Easy grip ring for quick removal ·                          2.1A fast charging ·                          Includes Samsung specific sync-charge cable If reviewing a product, it may have been received free of charge.
