My 21 year old grandson loved playing with his pull-back cars. We would play on the hardwood floor for hours just sending them back and forth to each other. These are soft and will be appropriate for a younger child. They even include alcohol wipes to clean them. One small pull back and I got a 24' run from my test drive. That is feet not inches! This will be a terrific gift and provide loads of fun for both the child and his adult playmate.
