Hitachi Honors Their Warranty-- Think Warranty When Buying Power Tools.

You wouldn't think a vendor honoring their warranty would rate a headline but consider the question of when was the last time you felt heard by a vendor that sold you a tool.   My cordless Hitachi drill died and I loved that drill.  It was small but mighty.  It has good life on the battery and you could use if for so many tasks.   I was carrying it to the trash and just off hand I decided to Google and see if the drill had any kind of warranty.   I found that it had a limited lifetime warranty and there was a phone number.  I called and  talked to David in repair in Georgia.  He said send it in, which I did.   I haven't gotten it back yet but I am still impressed by the fact it has a limited lifetime warranty and it was so easy to send it in, no reams of paperwork.   I will report back here if I am disappointed but so far I am just amazed.

NOT disappointed.  I got the drill back and it is repaired, works like new and no charge!
Kudos to Hitachi!

Samsung FlipShot-ho hum

I just got the Samsung FlipShot aka SCH-U900. If you haven’t noticed by now, I am very family oriented, specifically focused on grandchildren. I frequently lament that I don’t have my camera on me. However, I always have my phone on me. Thusly I wanted a phone with a decent camera. The FlipShot comes close. Samsung claims it is a 3 megapixel camera with flash and zoom. The photos are not what I would consider decent from a digital camera but compared to my last phone/camera, they are much better. The phone has a slot for a micro sd memory card. I popped a 2gb card in there for saving my photos. I have not been able to find a way to default the photos to the memory card. You have to manually move them. I haven’t given up and perhaps in a software upgrade there will be a way to get them to the card without moving them manually. Getting them off of the phone is interesting. If you don’t buy Samsung’s charging/data cable, you can send them to yourself and get them on your pc that way. You
