This is very cute and there are a lot of charms.  It’s suggested age is 6+ but I think 10 plus is more realistic.  The charms are very small and they involve sticking them together so you are looking at some serious manual dexterity.  The rings to hang the charms are shown being twisted with fingers.  Again, I’m not sure most kids have the dexterity to do this without a pair of tiny pliers such as jewelry pliers.  I like the idea but I think the age recommendation needs to be upped. I f reviewing a product, it may have been received free of charge. That will NEVER have a bearing on my recommendations.

FIRST—do look at the instructional videos before you start.  You really need to get an idea of how this works.  It took 40 minutes for it to charge the first time so either get it out and charge it before you give it as a gift or have a patient gift recipient.   It startled me when I did the shake down start up.   It sounded like a demented swarm of hyperactive bees.  It is not easy to control and at one point I was looking up at my 17 foot ceiling and wondering if I had to wait until the battery died to get it down.  For whatever reason it came back to me, kind of like a not very bright pet.   This should keep your average tech interested gift recipient amused for hours and I don’t mean just kids. I like K'NEX. I have always liked that they were made locally. The box does say now that 99% USA with the motor made in China and the parts sorted in the Dominican Republic . The 4WD aspect of this is pretty cool.  Just like in the real world, the 4WD gives the toy more ommph on getting over obstacles.  The motor battery compartment was a little tricky. The compartment door won't go back on if the batteries aren't inserted correctly. The instructions for assembly are excellent which is one of the reasons I like K'NEX.
