I plugged this into a charger leftover from an S4.  It started right up.  It works with my S8 and is slim enough to be easy to pack.  I really like it.

Later: I still like it but you have to be careful when you put your phone on it.  Location, location, location!  I wait to see the little star burst that your phone shows for charging as if it is slightly off center, it doesn’t charge.
