Book Reviews and Money Saving Tips

They have an amazing selection of things that seems to increase every time I log on to their site.    I saw a nice drop leaf table as I surfed as well as other assorted items.  I sometimes just seem to fall down the rabbit hole when I start surfing. My plans are to review cordless phones , HDTV antennas , outdoor solar lights , a tire swing , pruning tools , sled, a lego set and an air compressor . Of course that may change if I see something else I would rather review. CSN is providing all of the items to review but the choices are mine and they have made no attempt to influence what I write. I will continue to try and post monthly.   I hope to have the HDTV antenna review up soon.  

I have mentioned before that CSN Stores have provided products to review. They do not dictate what products I chose or what I say in my review. I’m still pretty amazed at a company with that level of confidence in their products and service. I ran across console tables in my browsing of their site. My first thought was they were encouraging shop lifting. This isn’t my Big Bad Green 69 Javelin cruising down the street, radio blaring, long hair (LOL) shaking, low riding but a 916 foot truly, easy rider; the Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas. I took a cruise recently this post has no tech. Money saving does fit the appropriateness of this post due to the fact that cruises are offering deals that are just impossible to beat. The nightly rate for the cruise I just took was less than if I stayed in a decent (not 4 star, just decent) hotel. Disregarding the ubiquitous free breakfast on the 95 corridor hotels, most hotels do not ply you with “free” food 20 hours per day. Nor do any hotels I stay in, provide multiple venues of entertainment nightly at no additional charge. If you aren’t interested in very professional singing, dancing or variety acts; you can always gamble. Again, outside of AC or Vegas, I don’t know where you would have that variety of entertainment and last I checked, Vegas and AC hotels don’t provide any of that at ...

In spite of spending hours on end at the keyboard I still periodically find a site or search engine that I am unaware of. Google Patents is a search engine especially for patents. If you are bored at the office or anywhere else you can search for patents. You can see if someone you know has a patent. You can also discover some of the strange things that are patented. The baby diaper that announces the child is wet by changes in conductivity of a charge running though the diaper and sets off an alarm. I am sure that the people who make Huggies are going to jump right on that. Just one more way that the Internet is enhancing our lives.

My grandson and I took a trip recently. His DS and DSi accompanied us. If you are under 20 you can stop reading now because you know all of this. The DSi is the latest system from Nintendo and is a computer in so many ways. Of course you can game on it. The thing I find just astounding is the ease that it connects to wireless networks or other DS systems. At one point he and 5 of his cousins were all playing Mario Kart. An ad hoc network set up by 11 year olds. Listening to all the screaming, yelling and laughter, I had to wonder why so many out of touch parents are opposed to the idea of kids playing video games with each other. How is that less acceptable than sitting around and playing a board game? Certainly you need exercise and like anything else, excess is not a good thing. Too many people ignore the fact that it allows kids to communicate and play while simultaneously introducing them to the intricacies of networking.
