Acer Aspire AX1301-U1302 Compact Desktop PC, AMD Athlon II X2 215 2.70GHz, 4GB, 750GB HDD, Gigabit LAN, Windows 7 Home Premium x64 Computer runs just fine. I have been consistently happy with Acer products. This monitor is hard to beat. The Acer X193Wb 19” Wide Screen Monitor would be a great gift for Mom. I find myself watching as much TV on my computer through the Internet as I do through the traditional cable. This monitor makes it easier on the eye and will let you get back from your desk far enough to put up your feet. Not that anybodies Mother would be gauche enough to do that. ACER is attacking the laptop industry with renewed aggression. They have released so many new models, I am not even going to address them all. One surprise to me was that ACER owns the Gateway, Packard Bell and eMachine brands. I’ve only been out of the reseller business for 3 years but I was surprised at that. As a reseller we had far fewer problems with the ACER laptops than we had with competing brands. Frankly we always looked a eMachines when they came in for service as disasters waiting to happen. Perhaps they have improved under the ACER umbrella. Take a look at the reviews of the new models here . In my experience even though I no longer sell equipment, the ACER is a good choice.
