AppFinity – AppDrive

First BE AWARE this is not a game in and of itself.   This is merely a holder for your iPhone or select Android phones.  It does not do anything by itself.  The box claims there is a free app at the Apple store of Android store.   Since I don’t have an iPhone I have no idea if there is an app at the Apple store.  I did not find any free app at the Google Android Store.   There was one called 2XL MX Offroad that once loaded immediately brought up a screen requesting a $4.99 payment.  Oddly enough I don’t find that FREE.   I uninstalled the app and put the AppDrive back in the box.  Admittedly $4.99 is very inexpensive for a computer game but not so much for a phone app.   This AppDrive retails for $38.00.  I guess if  you have money to burn you might want to try it and maybe iPhones have readily accessible apps but Android certainly does not.   On the bright side the steering wheel has a nice feel to it and the levers that push your phone screen seem well made.  It appears to be very durable but without any apps I can't verify that.  I don’t feel that is enough to give it a positive recommendation. I received this free for evaluation purposes and that had no bearing on my review.

Samsung FlipShot-ho hum

I just got the Samsung FlipShot aka SCH-U900. If you haven’t noticed by now, I am very family oriented, specifically focused on grandchildren. I frequently lament that I don’t have my camera on me. However, I always have my phone on me. Thusly I wanted a phone with a decent camera. The FlipShot comes close. Samsung claims it is a 3 megapixel camera with flash and zoom. The photos are not what I would consider decent from a digital camera but compared to my last phone/camera, they are much better. The phone has a slot for a micro sd memory card. I popped a 2gb card in there for saving my photos. I have not been able to find a way to default the photos to the memory card. You have to manually move them. I haven’t given up and perhaps in a software upgrade there will be a way to get them to the card without moving them manually. Getting them off of the phone is interesting. If you don’t buy Samsung’s charging/data cable, you can send them to yourself and get them on your pc that way. You
