Nix On SuperMediaStore Compatible Replacement for the Samsung© MLT-D101S Toner Cartridge

SuperMediaStore Compatible Replacement for the Samsung© MLT-D101S Toner Cartridges (MLTD101S) - Black, 1500 Yield Product #: TO 005 5137   Summary: Good Price but BAD Quality Cartridge fit the laser and the output was fine.   However one day the printer was making a sound akin to the old baseball card in the bicycle spoke sound.   A very ugly grating sound was coming from my normally quiet .   I thought I might have a paper jam.   I opened the printer and could not find any issues.   Every time I closed the printer it would cycle and the grating noise started again and then would stop.   Print something and the noise would start.   I removed the toner cartridge and put in the original, depleted Samsung cartridge and got no grating noise.   Put the compatible replacement back in the printer and Viola, grating noise again.    The stated defective policy is a return within 30 days.   Since I left the state for 3 months 10 days after I installed the cartridge and cam

D-Link Systems, Inc. Wireless Range Extender (DAP-1320)

Tiny Little Thing That Works Great! Wow, plug and play that works!   If you follow my reviews you are aware of how annoyed I get with technical products that claim to be consumer products.    A consumer product should be able to be installed by a non-technical person with minimal manual reading.   Sadly many of the supposedly consumer products need a technician to install them.   I loved that when I was in business and had techs to send out and generate income.    Now as a consumer I find it annoying, particularly since I am somewhat technical and can spend entirely too much time testing something that is supposed to install easily.   The D-Link range extender is a true consumer product.   I took it out of the box, read the large, quick install instructions.   I disconnected my existing range extender that took way too much time to install and plugged in the D-Link.    I then hit the WPS button on my router, went back down and hit the WPS button on the D-Link,

Red Laser Shopping Ap

I downloaded this AP from Google play for free.   It allows you to scan bar codes when you are shopping at a brick and mortar store and compare the price to on-line resellers.    It doesn’t provide an all encompassing list of folks selling the same product.   For example I scanned four test bar codes and it did not list Amazon once as selling the products even though I bought all four products from Amazon.    Curious. Regardless of possible bias, the AP gives you a good ball park figure allowing you to compare prices.    Home Depot, as an example, will match the price of an item if you show them the same item at a better price.    I did this just recently and showed them a better price by $3.00 on an item on sale at Lowes.    They matched the price.    So as much as retailers may dislike this AP it certainly deserves to be mentioned here at Money Saving Tech Tips.  If reviewing a product, it may have been received free of charge. That will NEVER have a

Scotch-Brite Dishwand, 6 heavy duty & 6 Non-Scratch Refills

Somehow kitchen drudge work became my responsibility.   I’m not complaining, frankly it is easier to clean up than it is to cook.   I like having a scrubber that lets me get the bulk of the crud off of the pots and dishes prior to putting them in the dishwasher.    In addition I like something with a handle that lets me push stuff down the garbage disposal without sticking my hand in the disposal.    The $20.00 price tag at Amazon on this may seem a tad high but consider that the wand with one scrubber installed goes for $4.50 to $5.50 and you are getting eleven more refills and the wand with installed refill for $20.00 you can see the savings.   I use this and I like it.   The heavy duty one does cut threw the hard, baked on stuff quite well.   I still recommend soaking the baked on stuff though and yes I do this voluntarily.    If reviewing a product, it may have been received free of charge. That will NEVER have a bearing on my recommendations.

Motorola Blink1 Baby Monitor

This is only about 4"by 4", a little bitty thing. I review a lot of products.    Frankly more of them make me frown than smile.   This product gave me a flat out grin.   Not only did it install easily, it works beautifully.    This is a home run!   This is truly a consumer product.   If you follow my reviews I am sure you have seen my dismay over products that claim to be consumer products and truly demand a technical education to install.    This install was flawless.   You do a simple reset of the camera before beginning and then install the free software from Google Play.    The software downloaded cleanly and also setup easily.   I put it on my tablet and my phone.    You will need the access name and password for your wifi but besides that you need nothing extra.    The camera pans and tilts, it is not overwhelmed by outside or inside light.   It detects noise.   You can set up notifications for noise and temperature.    It really is a remarkable produc

Logitech Tablet Keyboard for Windows 8, Windows RT and Android3.0+

I love this Bluetooth Keyboard.  I tried a keyboard tablet portfolio which may be fine for the munchkin crowd but for those with full figured fingers, it just didn't cut it.   Auto correct could not keep up with the errors.   I returned that and purchased this keyboard.   It is darn near full size minus the number pad.   It comes with a carrying case that doubles as an easel for your tablet.    Big enter key and big shift key and all the keys are where I expected to find them.   It is a bit bigger and not quite as portable as the folio type but I would rather have a real keyboard and make substantially fewer errors than one that really served me no better than an on-screen keyboard.   Compact, low-profile keyboard: For easy, comfortable typing wherever you use your Windows 8 or Android 3.0+ tablet Carrying case-and-stand combo: Protects the keyboard when you're on the go and converts into a versatile, adjustable sturdy stan

Powerline 500 Adapter XAVB5201

Netgear his a home run with this product.   I opened the box and it had three sheets of instructions, one of which was in English.    It was a pictograph on installation and a chart to read the colors on the LEDs.    I followed the pictograph and BINGO, I plugged in my laptop and got onto the Internet.    It took me longer to get the product out of the box and unwrapped than it took to install the product.    I am impressed!    Plug and Play should really mean plug and play not plug and pray.    Too much gear is touted as plug and play and really is far beyond the average user’s ability to install correctly.    That is not disparaging the average user that is criticism of the vendor for labeling a technical product as a consumer product.    If the end user knows he is going to have to have a technician do a house call to install a product, said end user may have second thoughts about purchasing.    If the vendor touts the product as “any idiot can install”, then you
